It might seem as if the Selfie is a bit blurred, it is, I suffer from a condition known as An Essential Tremor:
Essential tremor (ET, also referred to as benign tremor or familiar tremor) is the most common movement disorder; its cause is unknown. It typically involves a tremor of the arms, hands or fingers but sometimes involving the head or other body parts during voluntary movements such as eating and writing. It is distinct from Parkinson’s disease—and often misdiagnosed as such—although some individuals have both conditions. Essential tremor is commonly described as an action tremor (it intensifies when one tries to use the affected muscles) rather than a resting tremor; rigidity, such as is seen in Parkinson’s, is usually not included among its symptoms.
The actress Katharine Hepburn (1907–2003) had an essential tremor, which she inherited from her grandfather, that caused her head—and sometimes her hands—to shake.
Anyway, as I you can see this is my No Make-up Selfie, I did not make this up, it is a true selfie… It seems with make-up, that there is a fair amount of trickery involved! Often the person making up whatever they are making up, usually the face for women, will take an exceptionally looooooong time to do so… This make up process will involve at least 28 products that men have never heard of… It is also accompanied by a mirror, to determine the success of the make up exercise. You might find a clock radio or digital alarm clock nearby in some cases as well. This is to determine how much time is left before they REALLY need to get going, be it to work, church, grocery store, gym or the kitchen…
The No Make Up Selfie was an inspiring idea to me, since men see women as they are in any case. We do not pick up on the subtle tones of peach and vulcanic rock extract coupled with an auburn undertone of a mushroom found in India enhanced by the indigo backdrop of seaturtle dung… To men, women look the same ALL THE TIME. (Sorry Honey, I love and you’re hear looks great!)
Men was taught by women on how to identify Make Up though. We are not allowed to comment though, only compliment! We are not allowed to judge, make observations or suggestions on what should change on their faces, men are ONLY allowed to look, compliment and then guess what exactly their wives or girlfriends actually did for 67minutes in the bathroom seeing that they look exactly the same as they did before they went into that weird, strange little room.
Now, the wonderful thing about this campaign was that women now had to confront their worst nightmare! They had to show their faces in public AS IT IS!!!!!!!! No Make Up! Truth, the real deal, the whole nine yards, spill the beans, call a spade a spade – they had to do this to raise awareness for cancer, awesome! They also challenged other women to take the plunge, to reveal the real selves, the real faces, the real wrinkles(just kidding, you are all beautiful).
I applaud all women who did the #NoMakeUpSelfie, you are awesome! Men don’t notice the make up because we see your inner beauty! (You’re welcome gentlemen…)
So, in remembrance of my close relative who passed away, taken by this dreadful cancer thing, my Dad, I raise awareness by posting my #NoMakeUpSelfie, because men have been real since the beginning of time! (But we are nothing without our woman…)
